Natalie Portman and Alfonso Cuarón have been added to the guest list of France’s Annecy International Film Festival ahead of its opening this weekend.

The pair have been invited to participate in the festival’s Carte Blanche, under which they choose an animation which they would like to showcase

Actress and producer Portman, who was a producer on Ugo Bienvenu award-winning animated feature Arco under the banner of MountainA, has chosen with An American Tale by Don Bluth.

The 1986 animated musical feature follows the Mousekewitzes, a family of Russian-Jewish mice emigrating from the Russian Empire to the U.S. in the late 19th century. Portman will accompany a special Carte Blanche screening on June 22.

Mexican director Cuarón has selected late Hungarian director Marcell Jankovics’s 1981 psychedelic fantasy adventure Son of The White Mare, about a horse who is given superpowers through his mother’s milk.

A Carte Blanche invitation has also been extended to French YouTube star Inoxtag (Kaizen), who has selected Hayao Miyazaki classic Princess Mononoke.
