Sadie Sink Gets Comic-Accurate Jean Grey Costume In New Spider-Man 4 Art Following Massive MCU X-Men Rumors

[

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to bring in a major star into its ever-growing franchise.

The MCU timeline has featured several new faces throughout the Multiverse Saga, with various characters coming to life on the big and small screens. The next major Phase 6 installment is getting closer to its release, with Tom Holland set to reprise the role of Peter Parker this summer.

Following the latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, the reports continue to float around that Sadie Sink is playing Marvel’s Jean Grey, one of the famous X-Men players. New artwork from MikeLowrey69 shows what the Stranger Things star could look like in a comic-accurate costume. Check it out below:

The latest MCU rumors revolve around Sink’s supposed Jean role, as there are rumblings that the iconic mutant will be the main lead for the upcoming X-Men reboot that is currently in development at Marvel Studios. The new take on the team will be helmed by Thunderbolts* Jake Schreier, who landed the gig in 2025.

As of writing, Marvel Studios has not confirmed or denied any specifics about the X-Men movie, or whether or not Sink is playing the popular heroine in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony Pictures has also not commented on who she is supposedly playing in the summer blockbuster.

To this point, Sink’s part in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day story hasn’t even been fully unveiled through the trailers. However, a mysterious hooded figure has had a prominent presence in the footage for Peter’s Phase 6 adventure, with many believing it’s her.

Deadline reported on November 18, 2025, that Sink was joining the Avengers: Secret Wars cast, with the Phase 6 finale set to start filming this summer. But similar to how the Avengers: Doomsday line-up is being kept under wraps, Marvel Studios has not made any statements on whether or not the Spider-Man: Brand New Day actress is in the 2027 installment.

However, given the secrecy surrounding her character, it wouldn’t be shocking if she actually is playing Jean, and is perhaps intended to be one of – if not the – principal characters in the X-Men reimagination. The MCU has slowly begun to introduce the mutant concept through the Multiverse Saga, from characters like Ms. Marvel to Namor.

Your X-Men Identity

🐺

Wolverine (Logan)

“I’m the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn’t very nice.”
You’re the fierce loner who acts first and philosophises later — but beneath that adamantium-plated exterior beats a heart that cares far more than you’d ever admit. You’ve been burned enough times to distrust the world, so you keep people at arm’s length, yet you’d throw yourself into any fight to protect the ones who slip past your defences. You don’t need a cause or a manifesto — you just need someone worth fighting for. Like Logan, your greatest strength isn’t your claws or your healing factor; it’s the stubborn refusal to let the people you love face danger alone.

Fierce
Protective
Resilient
Untamed

🧠

Professor X (Charles Xavier)

“Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.”
You’re the visionary who sees the best in everyone — even when the world gives you every reason not to. Your greatest power isn’t telepathy; it’s an unshakeable belief that understanding and compassion can bridge any divide. You lead not through force but through hope, building bridges where others build walls. Some call you naive, but you know that real strength lies in extending a hand to your enemy. Like Charles Xavier, you carry the weight of a dream that most consider impossible, and you refuse to let it die.

Visionary
Empathetic
Diplomatic
Hopeful

🧲

Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr)

“Peace was never an option.”
You’re the survivor who learned the hardest lesson life has to offer: the world will not protect you, so you must protect yourself. Your conviction is unbreakable and your patience is terrifying — you’ll wait years to set the right plan in motion. You don’t hate humanity; you simply refuse to let your people be victims ever again. Every action you take, no matter how ruthless, is driven by a profound love for those who share your struggle. Like Erik Lehnsherr, you are both revolutionary and tragic — a leader forged in pain who will bend the world before it bends you.

Resolute
Strategic
Ruthless
Unyielding

When ScreenRant’s own Grant Hermanns spoke with Schreier in April 2026, the filmmaker stressed that the X-Men reboot will be different from previous iterations, as they want to tap into new, unexplored territory. The Beef director stated at the time, “Obviously, this series has done such incredible things and succeeded in so many ways, and done so many beautiful things. Like, what are some places we can go, and some areas of the lore that we can explore where it feels like we’re taking people to a new place.”

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige also shared in July 2025 that the MCU’s X-Men will explore a younger take on the icons. The executive commented that “X-Men is where that will happen next. They have been a place to tell stories about young people who feel different and who feel Other and who feel like they don’t belong. That’s the universal story of mutants, and that is where we’re going.”

One factor that may support the idea that Sink is the MCU’s Jean is the fact that an X-Men villain will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The second trailer revealed that Tramell Tillman is playing a modernized version of William Metzger, as the Department of Damage Control will be back in the 2026 entry, as they have been hunting emerging mutants over the last few years.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens on July 31, while Marvel Studios’ X-Men has yet to land a release date.
