Questlove Pacts With North Road for Talk and Game Show ‘The Next Move’

Roots drummer Questlove‘s next move is a new talk show titled just that: “The Next Move.”

Developed in collaboration with North Road Company and Two One Five Entertainment, “The Next Move” is a talk show based on Questlove’s personal celebrity game nights. The series will feature Questlove and three guests playing a variety of games from Uno to Jenga to original Questlove creations, all while conversing about their lives and careers. It will debut on Questlove’s new channel, titled Do You Want More, produced through his Two One Five banner. It’s the serving as the first salvo in a forthcoming slate of digital content from Questlove and Black Thought’s ever-expanding production company.

“Out of all my social experiments, game nights have been some of my favorites in my career,” Questlove said. “With ‘The Next Move,’ I’m bringing friends together to play and talk and see what happens. You can learn a lot about a person when they’re playing a game, and now we’re inviting you to come join us in the conversation too.”

Questlove began hosting game nights in his apartment in the 2010s, and they only grew after the pandemic. Past game nights have included stars like Taylor Swift, Jason Sudeikis, Lupita Nyong’o, Megan Thee Stallion, Quinta Brunson and J.J. Abrams. The guest lineup for the first season of “The Next Move,” developed in collaboration with Amazon, is still to be announced.

Two One Five Entertainment, a production company founded by Questlove and fellow Roots member Black Thought, develops and produces content rooted in culture and storytelling. “The Next Move” is their latest unscripted media endeavor. The show introduces Two One Five’s new channel, “Do You Want More,” priming for upcoming digital content from the production company.

The series is co-produced by Two One Five and Connor Schell’s Full Day, a division of Words + Pictures.

Questlove and his band the Roots have been a roll following noted performances at the Obama Presidential Center Library opening last month, as well as a historic collaboration with Jay-Z at the annual Roots picnic.

In June, Questlove released his new documentary “Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs That’s the Weight of the World),” with the highly anticipated follow-up to “Sly Lives! (aka The Burden of Black Genius)” (2025), “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music (2025),” and “Summer of Soul (…or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” (2021).
