Cyberpunk 2077 Third-Person Camera Mode Is A Very Different Game

Since its launch back in 2020, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have long debated two questions: should the CD Projekt RED RPG have been a multiplayer game, and should it have featured a third-person toggle? This comes as no surprise as these two questions have haunted RPGs for Millennia, with some players preferring to experience them with friends as opposed to embarking on a single-player adventure, and others would rather see their character’s full model as opposed to just their hands.

Of course, whichever you prefer is subjective, and CD Projekt RED has made it clear that it was happy with its decision to make Cyberpunk 2077 a first-person, single-player RPG. However, with a sequel currently in development, could the studio take on board these suggestions and offer players a third-person toggle at the very least?

Well, with the sequel still a few years away from release, it remains to be seen but, for now, one user has given fans what they have been asking for with a third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077.

Created by Jelle Bakker on Nexus Mods, this Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod does exactly what it says on the tin by allowing people to take to the streets of Night City with a fresh new perspective. First uploaded back in 2021, but receiving its latest update just last year, the mod has received plenty of fixes over time, with the mod description detailing just how far the fan project has come.

Of course, it goes without saying that this is quite a big mod to undertake, and as it is unofficial, you can expect some problems along the way. However, when it comes to third-person mods for Cyberpunk 2077, this is one of the best and with it being free to download, you have nothing to lose by checking it out.

Since its original upload, this third-person mod has received an incredible 900,000+ downloads, showing just how much fans have been looking for a way to experience Cyberpunk 2077 from a different perspective. Not only that, but with almost 20,000 endorsements, it is safe to say that it is a success, despite being a work-in-progress mod.
