Will Ferrell’s New Netflix Series Debuts With All-Time Career Rotten Tomatoes Record

Netflix has launched a new comedy, this time with Will Ferrell.

The Hawk officially premiered on Netflix on July 16, and as critics are sharing their thoughts on his new series, the Rotten Tomatoes score has debuted at 17%. Serving as both the main star and an executive producer, this makes it Ferrell’s least-received project of all time that he has headlined.

As of writing, the audience score for The Hawk has yet to debut, as it remains to be seen if viewers feel the same as the critics. The current Rotten Tomatoes score is also subject to change, as more reviews get registered.

In ScreenRant’s The Hawk review, while sharing how “with a little tweaking, I sincerely believe that this series could have realized its potential,” the comedy show still “ends up feeling messy. There is an attempt to raise the stakes and create emotional beats, but everything is undercut. There’s no room for emotions to actually develop, while the jokes fail to land because they feel out of place and poorly written.” It was also stated that it “is still finding its feet. It’s stuck between two worlds, and the characters aren’t unique or compelling enough to keep the show running.”
