Stardew Valley: Distant Lands Is A Seriously Impressive Gameplay Expansion

[

It may have received heaps of post-game content since its launch back in 2016, but with fans racking up thousands of hours of play time, it is no wonder that Stardew Valley is home to many fan-created projects.

It has officially been a decade since Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone released Stardew Valley, a farming simulation game which tells the story of the player inheriting their grandfather’s farm after his death. With a dilapidated farm to run, players must grow, build, mine, and rear in order to return it to its former glory, but with the help of the local townsfolk, it will not be long before the gold is pouring in.

Since its launch, ConcernedApe has added tons of free content to the game, and now, Stardew Valley is widely regarded as one of the greatest games of all time, especially topping the charts of farming simulators.

As such, it has been the number one game for modders over the years, with PC gamers regularly finding new and unique ways to experience the game. That is definitely the case for Stardew Valley: Distant Lands.

Created by Aimon111 over on Curse Forge, Stardew Valley: Distant Lands is a free-to-download mod which acts as a small expansion to the game. Aimed at adding a Witch Swamp to the game, it will replace the vanilla Witch Swamp map, making it look more lively and realistic. Not only that, but players can expect new NPCs, quests, items, fish, crops, foliage, and more.

“Witch Swamp was always an empty place with not so many things to do except fishing and visiting Witch’s Hut to turn babies into pigeons… With this mod, I tried my best to change it!” The mod description reads. “This mod is aimed at adding more endgame content, quests and unlocks, giving players more stuff to play with after they have finished Community Center bundles.”

As such, Distant Lands includes a new NPC known as Goblin, dozens of quests and events, four new fish, four new crops, six new cooking and crafting recipes, and three new recolors for the Witch Swamp map. The brand-new quests will see you assist Goblin and, as such, you will learn his story. In return, he will gift you special items and recipes.

Meet the Goblin! Yes, it’s that Henchman guy you give void mayo to and never see him again.

His name is Zic and now he fully enjoys his live in Witch Swamp lands…

If you are new to modding, Aimon111 has also included instructions on how to install Stardew Valley: Distant Lands. So, if you want yet another excuse to begin another playthrough of Stardew Valley, look no further than this free download.
