Game Of Thrones: The North Bannerman Duel Festival Officially Releases July 22

George R.R. Martin’s world of Westeros is in the midst of one of its busiest eras since the original Game of Thrones concluded, with HBO and Warner Bros. continuing to expand the franchise across television, film, and gaming. House of the Dragon Season 3 is currently delivering the next devastating chapter of the Dance of the Dragons (albeit with some controversial changes), while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is preparing to adapt more of Martin’s beloved Dunk and Egg novellas.

Beyond television, Warner Bros. has officially announced an Aegon’s Conquest feature film exploring the Targaryen invasion of Westeros, and strategy fans have Game of Thrones: War for Westeros to look forward to, allowing players to rewrite the fate of the Seven Kingdoms in a large-scale RTS.

And hardcore fans looking for an all-new Game of Thrones experience ahead of War for Westeros’ launch later this year, there’s a brand-new release coming out on July 22 called The North Bannerman Duel Festival (via Netmarble).

For gamers eager to experience Martin’s fantasy universe firsthand, there are two critically acclaimed games worth checking out now: the newly released Dragonfire and the free-to-play RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, which just kicked off its first season to APAC players earlier this week. Part of Season 1: Frost and Steel is an included event that starts later this week on July 22, The North Bannerman Duel Festival.

As of this writing, the event will also only be available to APAC markets this week, with no official plans to launch globally, though it’s worth noting that some players have been able to access the Asian build of Kingsroad with a workaround on Android devices. That said, many gamers are quite frustrated that Kingsroad is only getting new content for the Asian build of the game, particularly because events like The North Bannerman Duel Festival offer unique experiences in Westeros that would certainly bring in new players to the game.

For example, according to the Developer update regarding Season 1’s launch, players will be able to “fight 1vs1 against NPC Bannerman Champions from other Houses” that “act like real players who are parrying, evading, and backing away for ranged attacks” in what devs describe as a “‘PvE like PvP’ experience.”

Further, the tournament includes a “Three Round Tournament Time Attack” where players face a series of House Champions in several rounds of timed duels, while there are daily schedueld regional events as well that offer unique growth rewards. If you’re in the Asian market or have found a workaround to partake in the Asian build for Kingsroad, you’ll definitely be interested in joining The North Bannerman Duel Festival this week for a one-of-a-kind Game of Thrones adventure.
