Industry analyst reports only 7 PlayStation games ‘have sold more than 100,000 physical units year-to-date’ in the US, as fans demand Sony kill its plan to end the production of discs

  • He says two games “sold more than 10,000 physical units in the US during the week ending July 11, 2026”
  • This comes as fans push Sony to reverse its plan to end the production of physical discs

In light of Sony’s decision to retire the production of physical game discs, an industry analyst has reported that physical PlayStation games aren’t selling too well in the United States.

Last week, angry PlayStation fans descended on the comment section of the latest Marvel’s Wolverine trailer, another effort to push Sony to backtrack on its plan to end the production of physical discs starting January 2028.
