Silo season 3 debuted on Apple TV on July 3. The show is centered on Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols, who must navigate a life full of lies and threats inside a gigantic underground silo built to save humanity from an uninhabitable Earth surface. Season 3 changed the game for the show in multiple ways, and this new 10-episode run is already succeeding in its hardest task.
Silo Season 3 Succeeds With Juliette’s Intricate Story
Three episodes of Silo season 3 have been released thus far, with episode 4, “Whatever You Do, Don’t Go Home,” set to arrive on the streaming service soon, on July 24. While there is still more than half the season to go, it is already possible to say that Silo season 3 has succeeded in its hardest task. That would be to tackle Juliette’s memory loss arc and make it a multi-episode storyline that does not drag the show down. With every new episode, the Apple TV sci-fi series’ main character remembers more about herself.
It has been quite interesting to see the flashes of the old Juliette shining through this new, more mellow version of the character. Additionally, every main player on the show has a different dynamic with the amnesiac Juliette, altering the show in unpredictable ways. Critics agree that Silo season 3 has managed to excel with a story that has failed movies and TV shows in the past — Once Upon a Time, Heroes, and The Vampire Diaries all suffered with it at one point or another. Silo season 3 is currently at a rare perfect 100% critics’ score.
How Silo Season 3 Should Still Change Gears To Become Even Better
While Silo season 3 is handling Juliette’s storyline well, it is true that the show will only be able to fire on all cylinders when the character recovers her memories. Given how that is expected to happen at some point in season 3, and that both the present and past timelines are building up to a boiling point, the dystopian sci-fi series could become even better in no time. Juliette has been slowly learning about what the Sims’ were keeping from her, and by the end of episode 3, her life has been put in danger because of it.
Going into episode 4, Juliette will be at serious risk, which could be the kind of traumatic event that leads her to get her memories back. If not all of them, then perhaps at least a good chunk. Still, the Apple TV sci-fi series must connect its past and present timelines over the remaining episodes, and Juliette’s memory loss was already revealed to be tied to early human trials on patients like Congressman Daniel Keene’s sister, Charlotte, so Silo season 3 must be building up to an even bigger connection.
