Resident Evil’s Grace & Leon Will Officially Return This Halloween

Resident Evil somehow continues to be a monolithic franchise despite what can only be described as an inconsistent run of schlocky action movies, terrible adaptations, and questionable mainline releases. It obviously recently got a brand-new mainline entry in the form of Resident Evil 9, and is also getting a film adaptation by acclaimed director Zach Cregger. However, it appears to be paying off, as the series is finally on the generational run fans have always expected from it, and those aforementioned days of terrible entries appear to be over.

On top of all of those releases are a few more new Resident Evil projects. Of course, there’s a rumored expansion for Resident Evil 9 as well as the upcoming remake of Resident Evil Veronica. However, far more exciting than either of those is a totally new and incredibly innovative Resident Evil project that is going to be a must-play for fans of the series. In fact, this may be one of the coolest entries in the RE franchise for a very long time.

One of the greatest Resident Evil games ever made is its most recent entry, Resident Evil Requiem (or RE9). It caters to both sides of the franchise’s fanbase, providing action-packed quip-filled sequences with iconic series protagonist Leon Kennedy and tense, horrifying, nightmare-inducing stealth segments with newcomer Grace Ashcroft. Fans absolutely adored the game, and it performed extremely well both critically and commercially, which has, naturally, led to a brand-new spin-off project.

While this isn’t the Resident Evil 9 DLC some may have been hoping for, this Requiem spin-off is a first for the series and an immersive and innovative experience fans will absolutely want to experience. Capcom is releasing Resident Evil Biohazard Requiem – The Dive, an in-person experience in which players navigate through a terrifying maze-like recreation of the Wrenwood Hotel, are hunted down by zombies, and can even meet both Leon and Grace during the event.

Resident Evil Biohazard Requiem – The Dive is set to be one of the most immersive and detailed recreations of a video game ever. Everything from the alleyway outside the hotel to its terrifying corridors has been recreated perfectly to completely immerse attendees into the experience. As aforementioned, actors will also appear as Leon and Grace and will be engaged in some form of undisclosed action that viewers will get to watch.

The only caveat is that the Resident Evil Biohazard Requiem – The Dive experience takes place in Universal Studios Japan. So, if you want to get involved, you’ll need to travel there and buy a ticket to enter the park. The event is running from September 11, 2026, to December 27, 2026, so it won’t be around for long. Of course, it is altogether possible that it could come back, or its run could be extended. Regardless, for fans of Resident Evil, this experience is a must-see, and hopefully, as many people get to see it in action before it disappears.
