There are a lot of iconic characters in cinema, but there’s no doubt that Indiana Jones is at the top of the proverbial tree, alongside figures like Darth Vader and James Bond. The whip cracking and frankly irresponsible archaeologist has appeared in movies spanning several decades, and the earlier efforts are some of the best genre entries of all time.
Whatever your favorite happens to be, there are plenty of folks out there who are just fans of the character at large, with Harrison Ford doing a spectacular job of bringing it to life. If you are one of those people, there’s a new release on the way that you may well want to take the leap on when it does arrive.
Indiana Jones Will Return In 2027
Over on the Sideshow website, you can find the product listing for an Indiana Jones sixth scale figure based on the character’s appearance in Temple of Doom. As with all statues on the site, it is intensely detailed, with several different ways to display it based on your preference.
Largely crafted from silicone, the statue clocks in at 11.8″, so while it isn’t enormous, it is a great size if it’s going to make up part of a wider collection on a shelving unit. In sharing a little about what fans can expect, Sideshow confirmed the following description:
“Indiana Jones, a.k.a. Indy, is a daring adventurer and archaeology professor, portrayed by Harrison Ford. In “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” he is asked by desperate villagers to find a mystical stone and rescue their kidnapped children, embarking on a thrilling adventure. Indy’s charm, fearlessness, and resourcefulness leave a lasting impression on audiences, making the character a classic icon.
“Today, Hot Toys is excited to introduce the 1/6th scale Indiana Jones collectible figure, bringing this charming character from the movie to life. The figure features a newly developed head sculpt, complete with a fedora hat and separate rolling eyeballs, adorned with detailed wounds and bruises for a battle-damaged appearance. The upper body and arms are crafted from silicone for a seamless design that beautifully recreates his lean and muscular physique.”
The statue is currently available for pre-order at the relatively reasonable price of $310, though you will have a bit of a wait to get your hands on it, with shipping expected between January-June 2027.
It will certainly be interesting to see what will happen with the Indiana Jones franchise moving forward, as Harrison Ford ages beyond feasibly playing the physical role. There’s little chance that the powers in charge will want to let it die entirely, but it’s almost impossible to imagine the character without Ford at the helm.
