Warner Bros. is cutting it close as its contract with Mattel is nearing its end.

Three years ago, the blockbuster hit, Barbie, grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the studio’s highest-grossing movie. However, Warner Bros. has yet to finalize an agreement for Barbie 2 and is now reportedly facing a major deadline that is quickly approaching. Unless it reaches a deal for the sequel by December, the film rights will return to Mattel.
