GTA 6 Fans, Mark Your Calendars For August 7

Though things have been fairly quiet on the Grand Theft Auto VI front for the last month or so, it’s difficult to forget that we are rapidly closing in on the currently scheduled November 19 release date. Pre-orders have now been open for a little while, and it’s a fairly safe assumption that they have done quite well for Rockstar, fiscally speaking.

There’s absolutely no doubt that the game’s full release is going to be a near-unprecedented success, but it is going to be difficult for fans to totally relax until the game is in their hands. Now, there’s a big date coming up that could prove to be the final hurdle, before players have a completely clear runway to the Thanksgiving period.

Over on Twitter/X, the user GTA 6 Countdown shared a post confirming that there is going to be another Take-Two Interactive earnings call this week. The post reads:

Take-Two’s earnings call this week is going to be an important one:

• It’s the last one before November, the launch month of GTA 6
• The first earnings call after pre-orders opened
• Timing is unusual, as it takes place on a Friday at 8am ET right before the market opens for the first time in years
• Takes place right before Rockstar’s usual posting time (9am ET – 10am ET)

The unusual timing of the earnings call might raise a few uncomfortable hairs on the back of your neck, but the fact they are doing it before the market opens could mean they are happy with what they are about to share. We can certainly expect to hear more about pre-order numbers, but beyond that, it’s all a bit of a mystery.

Rather than announcing a delay or anything like that, it feels like much more of a potential starting gun for the big campaigns to start ahead of release. That could also mean that Rockstar are about to make further moves on that front as well, possibly even finally giving us that pesky third trailer that we have all been waiting for.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to sit tight and hope for the best, but given the fact that they have already started selling GTA VI, a further delay of any significance really doesn’t feel too likely. There could be a slight shifting of the dates for practical reasons, but don’t expect it to be any more than a week later than the currently scheduled spot.
