Attack On Titan Officially Returns December 2026 For A New Finale

[

It was back in November 2023 that Attack on Titan came to an end with an epic finale following a ten-year run. Inspired by the hit manga series of the same name, Attack on Titan went on to cement itself as one of the most beloved franchises of all time, as it told the story of the last of humanity living within a walled city in order to stay safe from the giant, humanoid figures known as Titans who lurk beyond the walls.

Becoming one of the best-selling manga of all time, not to mention boasting an anime adaptation that has taken the world by storm since it first aired back in 2013, it is no wonder that Attack on Titan became the inspiration for many game developers, including the team at Omega Force who launched a hack and slash video game of the same name back in 2016, followed by a sequel in 2019.

Inspired by the events of both the manga and anime series, Attack on Titan was published by Koei Tecmo both in Japan and then worldwide, and now, following the events of the finale, a third installment is on the way, with a release date revealed overnight.

Set to release later this year, it seems as though Attack on Titan 3 will not have to contend with the likes of Grand Theft Auto VI or any other major release launching during Fall. Instead, the third installment in the Omega Force franchise will arrive on 10 December, giving it ample time to shine in its own right.

Now available for pre-order, Attack on Titan 3 will allow players to experience the culmination of the series in their own hands, with this entry promising improved ODM action, set to deliver “the most exhilarating and stylish combat the series has ever seen.” Not only that, but this video game adaptation will also feature “brand-new story developments in addition to intense new battles against the Nine Titans, who make their first in-game appearance here”. As such, you will get to experience even more than what the show’s finale had to offer.

With pre-order bonuses up for grabs, now is the perfect time to get your hands on Attack on Titan 3, especially as the latest entry promises something that fans have been pleading for since the beginning: an emphasis on ODM. As fans will all know, the ODM gear is how our Attack on Titan heroes navigate the battlefield against the Titans, making it quite an important part of the story. In previous installments, the ODM combat has left a lot to be desired, but now, according to Attack on Titan 3‘s synopsis, this will be a thing of the past.

The omni-directional mobility action has evolved, letting you zip through the air with even greater freedom. Titans now move in more varied and unpredictable ways, posing an even deadlier threat. Together, these upgrades deliver intense battles where you read each Titan’s movements on the fly and take them down with flexible, responsive tactics. You can also turn on simple controls, so even players who aren’t confident with action games can pull off maneuvers worthy of a veteran Scout.

So, if you want to try out your hand at mastering ODM gear, or you want to relive the pain of the finale, make sure to add Attack on Titan 3 to your wishlist now, ahead of its 10 December launch date.
