Geekom’s GeekBook M16 Core Ultra 9 laptop is now under $800

If you’re looking for a large-screen laptop that balances portability, long battery life, and performance, the GeekBook M16 is now reduced to $791 (was $899) at Amazon with code GBKM16TR.

The same deal is also available direct from Geekom here, too. This makes it an attractive option for professionals needing a capable everyday laptop without paying crazy flagship prices.

The GeekBook M16 pairs Intel‘s Core Ultra 9 185H processor with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, a 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and Intel Arc graphics. Its 16-inch 16:10 IPS display provides extra vertical workspace, while a 99.9Wh battery promises all-day endurance and supports 100W USB-C fast charging.

Should you buy it?

The Core Ultra 9 processor, 16-inch display, long-lasting battery, modern connectivity, and bundled docking station make it well suited to a variety of tasks. The inclusion of USB4 and Wi-Fi 6E also helps keep it ready for future peripherals and networks.

You regularly play demanding games or rely on GPU-intensive applications. While Intel Arc integrated graphics offer a noticeable improvement over previous integrated solutions, they aren’t a replacement for dedicated graphics hardware. The memory is also soldered, so the 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM can’t be upgraded later.

Why we recommend it

The GeekBook M16 stands out by offering features normally found on more expensive models. The combination of a Core Ultra 9 processor, huge battery, USB4 connectivity, quality cooling system, bundled docking station, and lightweight design gives it excellent all-round value.

Geekom has also built a strong reputation with its mini PCs, and that experience shows in a laptop that’s equally comfortable handling a range of tasks throughout the working day.

In his review, our expert Mark said, “With nearly 100Whr of battery, this machine runs for an inordinately long time on a full charge, and it’s much more than the typical 60-80Whr that most machines using the same Intel platform get given. Having a battery capacity that can run this machine actively for nearly a day is impressive.”

Connectivity includes USB4, HDMI 2.0, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for up to three external displays. Geekom also includes a 5-in-1 docking station in the box, adding extra USB ports, HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet at no additional cost.

Price context & historical value

The additional discount brings the price down to just $791 saving you $108. That’s cheaper than the most recent price-cut at Amazon, where it was $809.10 a short while ago.

The GeekBook M16 is considerably more competitive against similarly specified premium productivity laptops and given how prices are rising in the market, it’s definitely one to consider.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

The GeekBook M16 is designed primarily for productivity rather than graphics-heavy workloads. Although the Intel Arc integrated GPU comfortably handles everyday computing, media editing, and light creative work, professionals working extensively with complex 3D rendering might benefit from a dedicated graphics card.

Mark also cautioned buyers to be careful with “deploying it to a student, because it’s difficult to assess how much abuse it can take, and carrying this all day might prove tiring.”

He also noted, as mentioned previously, that the 16GB of LPDDR5 memory is soldered to the motherboard, meaning you can’t upgrade it later.
