Warning: This article contains spoilers for Sterling Point season 1.There is more to come from Prime Video’s hit mystery series!

Sterling Point season 1 premiered on the streamer in full on August 5, 2026. The mystery drama romance follows teenage Annie (Ella Rubin), who finds out she and her twin brother have inherited a Canadian island from their estranged grandfather, and goes to investigate. An original story from creator Megan Park, Sterling Point has the potential to continue.

The show has yet to be officially renewed for season 2, but Park says in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly: “Season 1, you do spend a lot of time setting up the world, and then I do almost feel like if you get a season 2, it’s when you relax and go deeper,” she says. And there are several tantalizing cliffhangers in the first season finale that turn into promising future storylines.

[Ramona and Annie] switch lives, so there’s a lot for a second season to come back to,” Park continues. “And then there’s also the whole thing about when Ramona turns 18, what’s gonna happen with the property? Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle) is the series’ secondary lead, a local to the central island, whose family history turns out to be entwined with Annie and Connor’s (Keen Ruffalo).

Park also teased further storylines regarding the main characters’ parents, with loose threads including who Oona’s (Bo Bragason) mother is, as well as the twins potentially meeting their biological mother. “I would love to spend more time with the parents,” Park continues. “Specifically, who’s Oona’s mom? It would be so interesting to bring that character in. […] There’s a lot of mommy and daddy issues being threaded throughout the show.

At the time of writing, Sterling Point is the No. 1 TV show in the U.S. and the world on Prime Video. It has also achieved a critical approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as an audience score of 88%. EW also reports that Park is frequently asked what young adult book is the basis for Sterling Point, as it echoes certain literary trends, though it is an original.

In ScreenRant‘s review for Sterling Point, Rianna de Bono-Smith calls the series a “YA fever dream” and highlights the elements that will draw in this specific audience: “The series begins with color grading that would make Twilight fans weep in remembrance […] With a new Olivia Rodrigo song playing in the background, it’s clear the creators know who their target audience is, and no one is complaining.

Sterling Point also stars Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie and Daniel Quinn Toye, alongside veteran cast members Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead, Watchmen) and Jay Duplass (Industry, Transparent). With a strong start, if it were to continue, the new TV show could cement itself as one of the best and most iconic Prime Video original series.

All episodes of Sterling Point are available to stream on Prime Video.
