Dragon Ball Z Officially Returns August 26

Dragon Ball fans have had a lot to look forward to lately, including the current road tour for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, which allows fans to play a hands-on demo of the upcoming game, and hopes are high that the Dragon Ball Super manga will be returning sooner rather than later thanks to a small update from artist Toyotaro.

That’s not all, though. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is expected to premiere this fall and Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, based on the manga arc, has been officially announced as well. It looks like Akira Toriyama’s legacy is alive and well, and that’s not stopping anytime soon, since Dragon Ball fans can experience a new demo for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 on August 26, 2026. While the demo for Xenoverse 3 was previously confirmed to be at Tokyo Games Show in September, it’s now been confirmed for Gamescom 2026 as well. Demos at Gamescom are nothing new, but for anyone lucky enough to attend the event in Cologne, Germany, you’ll be able to go hands-on with the newest Dragon Ball game.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether a demo will drop on home systems for those of us who aren’t at Gamescom, but considering Bandai Namco’s current Road Tour runs from July 10 until December 20, 2026, the only way to play a demo of Xenoverse 3 in the foreseeable future may be to show up at one of the in-person stops that’s part of the tour. Once the Road Tour wraps up, it’s possible a demo will be announced ahead of Xenoverse 3‘s 2027 release.

The hype for Xenoverse 3 has been pretty intense. The series is already popular, but the new game takes place farther in the future than fans have seen before. As more characters get confirmed for its roster, that excitement only seems to be increasing.

If you aren’t able to attend Gamescom and check out the demo this year, then be sure to look at the official Road Tour website, which lists locations and dates throughout the end of the year. While Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 still doesn’t have a solid release date, the confirmation that it’ll be at Gamsecom is a good sign that we may be learning more details toward the end of August.
