Marvel fans have had no shortage of content to enjoy so far this year, especially on Disney Plus, where the franchise has released two new seasons of live-action shows and even a new season of an animated series. The first Marvel Studios project of the year to wow fans around the world was Wonder Man, which was initially renewed for Season 2 before Marvel recently changed its mind and announced that the show has been canceled. The same can’t be said for Daredevil: Born Again, which came back for Season 2 earlier this year, and production on Season 3 has already wrapped. The latest season of X-Men ‘97 recently came to a close after an emotionally charged finale, but Collider delivered the news just last week that the third and fourth seasons are already confirmed to premiere in 2027 and 2028.
Dominating the Marvel conversation on the big screen so far this year is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has already earned well over $1 billion at the box office. Marvel’s biggest releases of the year in 2025 were Captain America: Brave New World (starring Anthony Mackie) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (starring Pedro Pascal), both of which produced more than their fair share of merchandise. However, fans were recently treated to a spell of bad news when it was announced that The Fantastic Four Invisible Woman Drinking Cup with LED Lights, The Fantastic Four Human Torch Drinking Cup with LED Lights, and the Captain America Popcorn Helmet Container with LED Lights were all recently recalled due to a faulty battery issue. Fans with any of these products are advised to stop using them, and email productrecall@goldenlinkinc.com with proof of disposal to receive a full refund. Products were sold at AMC Theaters nationwide.

The next big release for Marvel Studios on the big screen is Avengers: Doomsday, which stars Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom and releases in theaters on December 18. Coming just a few months before Doomsday is the final MCU Disney Plus show of the year, VisionQuest, on October 14. The next big MCU project after Doomsday is Avengers: Secret Wars, and there will be no new movies between the next two Avengers films so Marvel can focus on quality. Coming to Marvel after 2027 is a new X-Men movie, Black Panther 3, and a live-action Ghost Rider film.
