Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake November 2026 Release Date Basically Just Confirmed

The announcement that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was returning via a remake really was an exciting full circle moment for fans who grew up playing the original in the 1990s. Though we only got a brief glimpse of what it could be like, that was enough to set pulses racing amongst a community that’s very keen for another experience in that universe.

That’s particularly true right now, as the franchise celebrates a staggering 40 years since its debut, and everyone is expecting Nintendo to go the extra mile to mark the occasion. The only thing we didn’t get was an official release date for Ocarina’s return, beyond the fact that it’s coming this year, but that may have just changed entirely.

As first reported by Vice, a new Zelda-themed Switch 2 console leak might have also revealed the Ocarina of Time Remake release date in its entirety. Recently, leaks have surfaced showing the new console and a 40th Anniversary Pro Controller, but the exciting bit is that those leaks also came with a release date for the game of November 12.

That lines up perfectly with other rumors, which also claimed a November 12 release date after using leaks related to upcoming amiibos tied to the game. The caveat to that is, while we do almost certainly know the date the new hardware is being dropped, they won’t necessarily line up the two releases exactly.

That said, this does give us a date to aim for, and it’s likely accurate within a few days either side, meaning we’ll all be having plenty of fun, long before the Christmas period. Obviously, we also haven’t had any official word from Nintendo about any of the new hardware, amiibos, or the game itself, so it’s best to take the rumors with a pinch of salt until they do weigh in.

Dealing with what we do know for a second, the new Ocarina of Time is definitely coming this year, and they won’t release the game without giving fans a much-better look at what they can expect from the game ahead of time. They will likely produce a dedicated Nintendo Direct for all the Zelda projects they have coming up (including the movie), and we can expect to hear more about when that’s going ahead over the next month or two, likely once the hype around Gamescom has died down, and they can have the time for themselves.
