HBO’s Harry Potter series hasn’t even made it to our screens yet but the powers-that-be at HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery are already getting the train back on the track ahead of the next chapter in the story of The Boy Who Lived. Each season is tackling one of J.K. Rowling’s novels per season, giving Hogwarts and its enormous collection of characters considerably more room to breathe than they had in the movies, and with HBO keen to keep its production moving swiftly, things have been in motion behind the scenes.
Now, it looks like the Hogwarts Express may have departed the station even earlier than expected.
Filming on Season 2 of Harry Potter appears to have begun, with Asha Soetan, who plays Gryffindor Chaser Angelina Johnson, revealing on Instagram that she was “back on set today.” Soetan accompanied the update with a Harry Potter hashtag and added that she had “some exciting scenes” to film but was “sworn to secrecy.” Of course, in the stories, traditionally the new term begins on September 1st, so the kids have gone back to school early this year.
