When you sit down to watch this movie, you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching a particularly nasty Western and nothing more. When people walk into that bar, though, everything starts to change. And that’s why the movie has started charting again.
From that point onward, From Dusk Till Dawn becomes something entirely different. Yes, the Robert Rodiguezx Quentin Tarantinojoint from 1996 is officially back on streaming in the United States, and you will absolutely want to check it out. The movie follows criminal brothers Seth and Richard Gecko — not Gekko, they have no relatives in Manhattan — as they flee across the American Southwest following a violent bank robbery.
Well, if they were related to Gekko, that must run in the family. Desperate to reach Mexico, they kidnap former pastor Jacob Fuller and his two children, forcing the family to help them cross the border. Their destination is the Titty Twister, an elegantly named desert bar where the brothers are supposed to meet their criminal contact but, sadly for them, the establishment’s employees and clientele have a rather significant secret: They’re vampires.
The film stars George Clooney (Ocean’s Eleven) as Seth Gecko, Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction) as Richard Gecko, Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs) as Jacob Fuller, Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets) as Kate Fuller, Salma Hayek (House of Gucci) as Santanico Pandemonium, Danny Trejo (Machete) as Razor Charlie, Cheech Marin (Born in East L.A.) in multiple roles, and Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead) as Sex Machine.

Produced for approximately $19 million, From Dusk Till Dawn grossed around $59.3 million worldwide, proving that people will absolutely turn up for a weird genre mash-up. It opened at No. 1 in North America before eventually becoming an even bigger cult favorite through home video, which we know Tarantino would have absolutely adored. At first, critics weren’t overly sold on it, but this is the kind of movie that was destined to become a cult classic. Not that it even matters at this point, but the critical response on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 65% positive.
From Dusk Till Dawn joined Paramount+ in the United States in August 2026.
