Pokémon Legends: Z-A Freebie Officially Available Until November 18

Pokémon Legends: Z-A, like its predecessors, has continued to be supported long after launch with special distributions and limited-time events. This constant stream of updates ensures that returning players have something new and exciting awaiting them in Lumiose City, and new players have even more reasons to stick around. While they’ll eventually stop, for now, the assorted freebies, downloads, and events are a fun bonus that helps make Legends: Z-A feel that little bit more worthwhile.

There are numerous ongoing Pokémon Legends: Z-A events that players can take part in, but the one they’ll absolutely want to pay attention to is a free download that can only be claimed before November 18. This is absolutely worth claiming if you’re a fan of the game or are looking for even more Pokémon to add to your collection, especially as it could result in gaining a rare pattern. You’ll need to be quick, of course, but fortunately, so long as you have a copy of the game, it’s very easy to obtain.

Right now, players can claim a free Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This is Game Freak’s way of distributing Pokémon or various items to all players, something it does on a fairly frequent basis. The Mystery Gift this time is Spewpa, a Bug-type Pokémon originally introduced back in Gen 6. Spewpa can be caught in the base game or evolved from Scatterbug at level 9, but this Mystery Gift cuts out the need to hunt one down and simply adds it to your collection.

In order to get the Mystery Gift, you’ll need to first head to the main menu and select Link Play. From there, just select Mystery Gift, and then “Get via Internet.” Once you’ve done that, Spewpa will be added to your account, allowing you to add it to your party and evolve it. You don’t need a Nintendo Online subscription, despite the fact that you need an internet connection in order to get it. Additionally, you can only get one per save file, and the account playing must be tied to a registered Nintendo Account.

Once you have Spewpa, you’ll be able to evolve it at level 12 into a Vivillon, which can have one of 16 unique patterns. There is no way of guaranteeing that the Spewpa obtained via the Mystery Gift will have a certain pattern, so you’ll need to hope that you get the one you want. Of course, if you don’t, you can simply head back into Wild Zone 4 during the day to find one in the wild. Alternatively, Spewpa’s can be located near trees and in grassy areas all across Lumiose City.

This Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is only available until November 18 at 9 pm ET. While it doesn’t quite make up for a lack of a brand-new Pokémon Legends game, it should hopefully give Z-A fans something new to entertain themselves with for a short while. At the very least, it gives Spewpa fans another win, and those hunting down every variant of Vivillon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A the opportunity to complete their collection.
