ABC News Names Jon Schlosberg Executive Producer, ‘This Week’

Jon Schlosberg will take the reins of ABC News‘ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” as executive producer, starting May 6, and will report to Rick Klein, the head of the Disney-backed news outlet’s Washington Bureau.

Schlosberg will lead all aspects of “This Week” in collaboration with George Stephanopoulos, Martha Raddatz and Jonathan Karl. 

“Jon is a tenacious journalist and exceptional leader who has been instrumental across the ABC News Group for more than a decade, bringing precision, creativity and integrity to some of the most consequential stories of our time,” said Klein, in a prepared statement. “His sharp political instincts, deep experience in linear as well as streaming television, and proven ability to build winning teams make him exactly the right person to lead ‘This Week’ into its next chapter.” 

Schlosberg will manager and provide editorial leadership for “This Week,” including overseeing the program’s content and relevant special programming on the ABC network as well as Disney+, Hulu and ABC News Live.

Schlosberg joined ABC News in 2018 as a producer, helping to launch the 24/7 streaming news channel ABC News Live. Since 2021, he has served as senior producer for ABC News Live’s “Prime with Linsey Davis,” leading election coverage, producing investigations and overseeing political interviews with senior administration officials, U.S. Supreme Court justices, members of Congress, governors and international leaders. 

Schlosberg has received two duPont-Columbia honors, including the organization’s first special recognition in 30 years for ABC News’ work on the 2024 presidential debate and the award for environmental journalism for the network’s global investigations “Trashed: The Secret Life of Plastic Recycling” and “The Power of Water.” He has also won an Emmy Award and Edward R. Murrow Award for the network’s climate coverage. 

Prior to ABC News, Schlosberg served as a producer at KGO ,an ABC-owned station in San Francisco, and at WVUE-TV in New Orleans.
