On the same night that The Voice crowned its Season 29 winner, one O.G. coach confirmed he’s coming back.
Adam Levine, who has coached 18 of the show’s 29 seasons, confirmed to People magazine that he will be returning for Season 30. It probably doesn’t hurt that his contestant, Alexia Jayy, won the competition tonight. His other winners include Season 1’s Javier Colon, Tessanne Chin from Season 5 and Season 9’s Jordan Smith.
During her Blind Audition, Jayy delivered a lights-out performance that showcased her rich, soulful tone and undeniable vocal control, with the classic ballad “(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman.” Each of the three coaches turned their chair for Jayy, giving her the chance to pick Levine, who had already deemed her the “best voice in the competition.”
The Maroon 5 frontman coached the first 16 seasons of the show before stepping away to focus on his music. He returned in Season 27. Levine is the only coach confirmed for Season 30, thusfar.
The Voice is a presentation of MGM Television, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, a Warner Bros. Television Group, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
