‘Age of Attraction’ Is Netflix’s Biggest New Reality Launch

[

Netflix launched a number of new reality series in the first half of the year and it turns out viewers were most turned on by its age-shifting dating escapades.

Age of Attraction, from Velvet Hammer Media, was the streamer’s top performing new unscripted series over the first six months of 2026, per its What We Watched report.

The show, which debuted in March, recorded 10.9M views. Quickly renewed for a second season, the show, which opened with 3.8M views in its first week, essentially asks the question: is love ageless. It was hosted by Nick Viall and his wife Natalia Joy.

Stand-up competition series Funny AF with Kevin Hart technically recorded more views, bringing in close to 42M views, but Netflix recorded views per episode rather than over the course of its ten episodes. It most popular episode drew 8.3M views.

Elsewhere, Members Only: Palm Beach, which follows a group of women in President Trump’s own Florida neighborhood, drew 3.4M views.

This was much higher than its other big reality ensemble launch, Calabasas Confidential. The series, which launched in May and follows a group of lifelong friends who return to Calabasas, CA, post-college for a summer of reckoning, could not crack the top 1,500 series with only 1.5M views.

Star Search also didn’t break through. Its opening episode drawing 2.6M views. The big-budget live competition series, hosted by Anthony Anderson and featuring a judging panel of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chrissy Teigen and Jelly Roll, saw its final three episodes draw 600,000 views.

Much like Funny AF, which had a different roll-out strategy, the whole series drew 9.3M views over its nine episodes.

Former unscripted boss Jeff Gaspin, who left in June, as revealed by Deadline, said that while Star Search probably won’t have a second season, it was buoyed by the use of the technology.

“We’re only 10 years old in our reality journey, and so we’re going to keep trying things. Some will work, some won’t, but it’s still an exciting time and place for us,” he said at Deadline’s Reality TV Summit.

Game show What’s In The Box?, which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and launched in December, drew 1.7M views, and Zach Galifianakis’ This Is A Gardening Show dug up 3M views.

Returning shows fared much better with season 10 of Love Is Blind scoring 13.1M views and season four of Love on the Spectrum drawing 11.2M.

In related programming, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, a documentary series about the classic modeling competition series, drew 22.4M views, but Simon Cowell: The Next Act could only muster 2.4M.
