Amazon is running a back-to-school sale on LEGO sets for kids today, and there’s one Duplo deal that I had to grab for my 2-year-old son. The Caring for Animals at the Farm set has dropped down to $34.99 after a 30% discount.
LEGO Duplo blocks are surprisingly expensive, but this is the biggest price drop I’ve seen on this set all year. We already have a big plastic bin of old knock-off Duplo bricks that my son has started showing interest in, but I think this farm-themed set is going to blow his mind. It’s got two horses, two cows, a chicken, a sheep, and a cat.

The LEGO Duplo line of sets are made for a variety of different stages of development. The earliest recommend age LEGO has sets for is 18 months, scaling up to age 5. This particular set has a recommended age of 2+, which is why it includes more figures than the basic 18-month-old sets.
It may seem like six months doesn’t make that much of a difference, but I’ve only recently become confident that my son won’t actually try to eat that chicken as soon as he sees it. He turned 2 back in May, and has really been rapidly advancing his fine motor skills.
There are quite a few 2+ Duplo sets that connect to major Disney franchises like Bluey and Frozen, but they are more expensive than the ones that aren’t Disney branded. Thankfully, my son is really into farm animals right now and couldn’t care less about Bluey or Elsa.

Amazon has one other LEGO Duplo set on sale right now that’s meant for younger toddlers. It includes a total of 80 pieces and three wheel bases that allow you to make simple cars and structures. It’s a great first box to buy for your little one that’s meant to get the creativity flowing.
