Apple‘s Eddy Cue will be named Entertainment Person of the Year at Cannes Lions next month.

Cue, the tech giant’s Senior Vice President of Services and Health, is being presented the award for his role in overseeing Apple’s ecosystem. Included under his purview is streaming service Apple TV, which launched six years ago and counts the likes of Ted Lasso, Severance and The Studio among its most-notable originals.

Cue also oversees Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Books, Apple Pay, Apple News, Apple Card, Apple Maps, Fitness+ and iCloud, along productivity and creativity apps.

The Studio recently became the most-awarded freshman comedy series of all time, winning at all the major ceremonies, and Severance was last year’s most Emmy-awarded drama series. Apple Original Films’ Ablockbuster F1 broke records as the highest-grossing sports film of all time.

Cannes Lions, marketing’s biggest annual industry get-together, bestows the Entertainment Person of the Year award “in recognition of the vital role that entertainment plays in the marketing and communications landscape.”

“Eddy Cue has consistently pushed the boundaries of entertainment and storytelling, building platforms and experiences that have redefined how audiences engage with culture,” said Lions CEO Simoon Cook.

“Under his leadership, Apple has not only produced world-class content but has also shaped the future of entertainment through innovation, creativity and an unwavering commitment to quality. We’re delighted to honour Eddy as our 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year.”

Cannes Lions will run from June 22-26.
