If you’re new to 3D printing, I’ve found an incredibly good beginner-friendly budget 3D printer deal – with the Bambu Lab A1 Mini Combo now $309 (was $459) direct from Bambu Lab. It’s also on sale in the UK, where the Combo version is down to £239 (was £259).
This 3D printer scored the full 5 stars in our review, earning an Editor’s Choice award for its speed, accuracy, and performance. We praised the 3D printer’s “robust performance, excellent print quality, accuracy, a quad filament option and a beautifully designed touchscreen interface.”
After putting it through its paces, we found this quirkily designed machine delivered “unbeatable speed and quality” for the price. For beginners and experienced hobbyists, we can’t fault the A1 Mini.

The headline feature of the A1 Mini is how little it asks of you. Out of the box, the main gantry and print head arrive pre-assembled. And in our 5-star review, we noted that “if you’re in the market for a small yet outstanding 3D printer that doesn’t compromise on features or flexibility, the A1 Mini is the must-have printer right now.”
The 500mm/s maximum print speed is class-leading for an open-frame printer in this price range, backed by 10,000mm/s² acceleration and Bambu’s vibration compensation firmware. In practice, a standard Benchy test print completes in around 44 minutes — significantly faster than competing machines. Active flow rate compensation adjusts extrusion in real time to maintain consistent layer adhesion across different filament types, which translates directly to fewer failed prints.
The 180 × 180 × 180mm build volume is the A1 mini’s most obvious constraint, and it’s worth being clear-eyed about it: this is a printer for models up to roughly seven inches in any dimension. For miniatures, functional desk accessories, phone stands, toys, home décor, and replacement parts, it’s perfect. If you regularly need larger prints, the non-Mini Bambu Lab A1 (256 × 256 × 256mm) is the natural step up.
Multi-color printing is available via the AMS Lite system, which can hold and feed up to four filament spools. However, if you’re happy with single filament 3D printing, the standalone version is also on sale right now.
For the price, the Bambu Lab A1 Mini Combo bundles everything a first-time buyer needs to get started and have fun. You can also check out more options in our guide to the best 3D printers.
