Colin Farrell On ‘The Batman Part II’ Filming: “I Haven’t Got Much To Do On It”

Colin Farrell is sharing an update on the filming of The Batman Part II and once again praising Matt Reeves’s script.

In a new interview, Farrell shared that he is about to start filming the sequel to the 2022 film in which he plays The Penguin.

“I will go fly to London in four or five weeks. I haven’t got much to do on it, but I’ll go for four or five weeks. I’ll be there for a few weeks. I’m so excited to see it as a fan,” Farrell told Collider.

About the script, the actor said, “It’s extraordinary,” adding, “Matt is just so brilliant, and he just cares so deeply about the stories he tells.”

Farrell had previously teased the script, saying on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “I had many thoughts to share with Matt about the script. I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork. It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.”

He continued, “It’s dense, it’s really really intelligent, it’s so deep and detailed. I’m saying too much. I think he’s going to make an extraordinary film.”

In a separate interview, Farrell teased how The Penguin leads right into The Batman Part II, telling ComicBook, “It conveniently worked that the death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on.”

“That was perfect for the parallel eight hours that we had,” he added. “And then [The Batman Part II] will pick up, whatever, a few weeks after the show ended. But I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark.”

The Batman Part II is set for release on October 1, 2027.
