Cyberpunk 2077 is endlessly getting new content in the form of official updates, new DLC, and fan-made mods. Frankly, it is astounding just how much CD Projekt Red’s masterpiece has changed over the past few years, as jumping into Night City now is a vastly different experience than it was on launch day. The fact that this open-world sandbox continues to feel just as fresh today as it did back in 2020 showcases both the determination of fans and the impressive foundation CD Projekt Red built, despite all the handful of initial minor setbacks.
Fortunately, this slew of new content isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, with Cyberpunk 2077 receiving new features in 2026. From brand-new life paths to dozens, if not hundreds, of new quests, one could almost be fooled into believing that Cyberpunk 2077 was still in its infancy and not a game over half a decade old. Perhaps one of the biggest new additions to Cyberpunk 2077 is the Missing Persons mod, which not only adds 200 quests to the game but also helps players finally discover some of Night City’s most hidden secrets.
Cyberpunk 2077 Just Keeps Going
While Cyberpunk 2077’s infamously canceled second expansion is officially off the cards, at least for the foreseeable future, that doesn’t mean that players don’t regularly have new content to dip into. There have obviously been several impressive official expansions, but mods like Missing Persons are what add truly worthwhile value to the base experience. Missing Persons adds a whopping 194 new fixer gigs that see V tasked with finding a missing person or hidden stash lying around Night City.
With 400 unique messages added specifically for these quests, giving each mission a fair amount of flavor, they really do feel like worthwhile distractions that both expand the worldbuilding and the fixers handing them out. Obviously, given that this is a fan-made mod, these aren’t fully-fleshed-out quests, but they’re a fun way to bulk out the pre-existing side content.
Crucially, Missing Persons, which can be downloaded via Nexus Mods, is designed to help players locate the 194 Hidden Gem locations scattered across Night City, ostensibly making them accessible in an immersive way for those who don’t want to just look up a guide. This is perhaps Cyberpunk 2077: Missing Persons’ greatest strength, as it showcases just how impressive Night City remains after all this time.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City Is Unmatched
The Hidden Gems found across Night City are a series of Easter Eggs, valuable loot, and assorted unlockables that players will likely never find unless they either randomly stumble across them or look up a guide on their locations. They’re designed to be a fun addition to the already incredibly detailed Night City, and Missing Persons is ostensibly the ultimate way of showcasing their brilliance.
Frankly, the mod is a must for those who adore Night City as an interactive open-world. Many of the best locations and secrets are tucked away within these Hidden Gem spots. At the very least, it is a novel way of making driving around the city feel a tad less aimless after you’ve beaten everything else the game has to offer.
With more free Cyberpunk 2077 content on the horizon, it is clear that Missing Persons won’t be the last huge mod to release for Cyberpunk 2077 in 2026. However, it does currently feel like one of the most essential, if only for how it opens up Night City in a way that doesn’t break the intended experience. Missing Persons is the perfect Cyberpunk 2077 mod for those looking for a fresh new perspective on an excellent open-world that will seemingly live on for all eternity.
