Dungeons & Dragons Meets Bloodborne In New RPG Release

[

Dungeons and Dragons has dropped into eldritch horrors like those seen in Bloodborne with a new RPG release that is now available. The popular TTRPG has officially entered its Season of Horror in 2026 with the release of Ravenloft: The Horrors Within earlier this month. Wizards of the Coast has announced a surprise new release for D&D in July, which will see a vampire-based class from Vampire: The Masquerade be fully playable in Dungeons and Dragons, for example. Before that, however, a new horror-themed expansion has been dropped.

As was officially announced, the new player pack for this expansion is available in the D&D Beyond Marketplace. The player pack contains a load of information, including details about the world where players will be inserted, its factions, alternative species, and more. The product unlocks seven new subclasses for players to pick, as well as a ton of new spells to cast, weapons to wield, like trick weapons, backgrounds, feats, and renewed firearm rules.

The new Bloodborne-inspired expansion pack is called Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt Player Pack, and it contains a portion of what the original crowdfunded book, intended to allow you to run Bloodborne-like campaigns in D&D, now revised for 5.5e rules. As is hinted by its name, the setting for this expansion is steeped in eldritch horror. This isn’t the complete book, which can be bought on the MonkeyDM website.

However, with the Player Pack that was released on D&D Beyond, you have easy access to a portion of the book, which has subclasses for Barbarian, Druid, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, and Rogue. On top of that, the arsenal you can wield is expanded on top of the 5.5e rules, and you can even claim special weapons, some of which are heavily inspired by some of the best trick weapons in Bloodborne. The Holy Moonlight Sword obtained from Ludwig, for example, is adapted into a greatsword called Shard of Moonlight.

Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt also contains special rules for firearms. The expansion also adds a new category of spells called Osteomancy. This allows players to manipulate bones and skin, both against enemies and to fortify themselves. With an additional two new species, your character creation process in D&D will have even more options to choose from.

As was mentioned, this is only a portion of what the complete book has to offer. The original book has a total of 17 subclasses and a brand-new class called Jaeger. However, all of the content for the original book is centered around 5e rules (2014). Even so, if you’ve ever wanted help to create a Bloodborne-like world in Dungeons and Dragons, Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt may be the absolute best module around.
