Elden Ring Officially Returns Next Month With A Brand-New Adventure

[

Elden Ring fans are still waiting with bated breath for an official release date announcement for the long-awaited Tarnished Edition, which is set to release for Nintendo Switch 2 and also give players a couple new classes to mess around with. The Tarnished Edition DLC reportedly will also include several new armor sets, weapons, and possibly even new Ashes of War and consumable items, and will also allow players to customize Torrent’s appearance for the first time ever.

While all of that sounds great on paper, fans are starting to grow a bit restless after Tarnished Edition‘s delay from its original planned release last year. With 2026 now halfway through and no official update as of this writing, gamers are starting to worry they could be facing yet another delay.

However, there is an official new Elden Ring release scheduled for next month that will hopefully tide players over for the time being, and fans will want to mark their calendars for July 28 (via Yen).

Elden Ring: Road to the Erdtree is set to take fans back to the Lands Between in July as part of an ongoing officially licensed manga series from Yen Press. Volume 9 of the ongoing series continues with protagonist Aseo’s adventure following his struggles through the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and his arrival at the infamous Altus Plateu.

As the fierce battle at the Ruin-Strewn Precipice ends, Aseo and company finally arrive at the Altus Plateau. With the Royal Capital Leyndell—and its towering Erdtree—close at hand, what awaits the party are reunions with old friends and foes, as well as new encounters…! At last, it’s the attack on the Altus Plateau!!

Road to the Erdtree is a hilarious and fan-favorite manga series by author/illustrator Nikiichi Tobita, with Volume 9 available to pre-order from Yen Press roughly $13.00 USD in print and $6.99 USD in digital via various e-reader formats (e.g., Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.). All previous volumes of the Road to the Erdtree serial are currently available at similar prices, and each one runs around 176 pages total.

The series features amazing art and comedically styled writing that attempts to reflect the Tarnished’s experience traveling through Elden Ring‘s base game itself, including all the trials and tribulations you’d face when first stepping foot into the Lands Between. It’s a must-read adventure for manga enthusiasts and Elden Ring fans looking for a truly unique experience with the IP, and is a great way to keep yourself busy while waiting for Tarnished Edition‘s release later this year.
