Euphoria‘s Alexa Demie clarifies those rumors that plans on leaving Hollywood.
Speaking with THR, Demie, who plays Maddy on the hit HBO show, reveals that internet speculation that she’s quitting acting isn’t accurate. The rumors stemmed from a 2020 interview in which she expresses frustration that there seems to be so few parts for Latina actors, but she stresses that quitting was never really on the table. As Demie explains:
“I was reading it, and it really hit me — and I kept having that experience. I was sick of going into those rooms, and this was during that time when you’re young and every few months you’re just like, ‘I’m quitting, I’m quitting.’ But knowing me, I never would have quit. I’m more of the energy of like, ‘No, I’m going to show you I can do it.’”
