Evan Ross Katz’s Podcast to Host Live Taping of Netflix YA Talent

Evan Ross Katz’s Shut Up Evan: The Group Chat podcast is set to hold an in-person taping at Netflix’s End of the Summer Bash, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Best of the Best, Never Have I Ever), Anna Cathcart (XO, Kitty, To All The Boys), Nikki Rodriguez (My Life with the Walter Boys), Miku Martineau (Crew Girl, BET) and Kristina Bogic (The Body) will join the podcaster for a live 60-minute taping Thursday (Aug. 13) in front of a live audience. The conversation will dig into the how each actress got their start on Netflix and what’s next in their careers.

“Being a part of the Netflix family as one of its slate of original podcasts has been a tremendous joy since we launched,” Katz said in a statement. “To take it to the next level and ‘do it live’ in L.A. to celebrate their groundbreaking slate of YA programming past, present and future in a room full of fans is an added bonus. As a fan myself, I share their excitement.”

Added Ramakrishnan, “It’s been an amazing journey getting to work with Netflix on such meaningful projects that feature young people but are made for everyone. My life has completely changed, and I am forever grateful to be able to bring such powerful storytelling worldwide.”

The announcement comes as Netflix continues to dig into the YA space, which has been experiencing a bit of a renaissance recently. YA titles have driven 1.4 billion global views on the platform thus far in 2026, Netflix says, with some of those titles like Stranger Things and Wednesday anchoring the streamer’s most popular list.

Netflix has announced several updates in their YA slate throughout the week, including casting information for the upcoming hockey drama The Sticks, the trailer for the rowing-centric Crew Girl, more details on the psychodrama The Body and more. Outer Banks, a long-standing YA hit for the streamer, is set to hold its own fan event this weekend ahead of its final season.
