Warning! Spoilers ahead for Event Horizon: Inferno #1!
Event Horizon is back with a long-awaited sequel, and it just confirmed the return of one major character from the original film: Lt. Starck, the second-in-command of the Lewis and Clark. She was one of the few members of the crew left alive at the end of the 1997 movie, meaning she’s one of the only people prepared for what’s coming.
The sequel, Event Horizon: Inferno, is set two hundred years after the movie. The creative team behind the series has cited Aliens as a huge influence on Inferno, and now the Event Horizon franchise officially has its Ellen Ripley. Like Ripley, Lt. Starck has been flung into an uncertain future and pitted against a terrifying otherworldly foe.
Event Horizon: Inferno #1 is written by Christian Ward, with art by Rob Carey. The series’ Aliens goes beyond Starck’s return. It’s also there in the set-up, and the upgrade to demons, plural, as the threat this time. The first issue confirms that this is going to be a gory affair, but Lt. Starck’s appearance on the final page makes it clear Event Horizon’s human characters don’t have go down without a fight.
Event Horizon: Inferno #1 is available now from IDW Publishing
What do you think, Event Horizon fans? Does Starck’s return make you more stoked for Inferno?
