Explainable AI is making black box models worthless in the agentic era



For years, enterprises tolerated opaque automation because outcomes were predictable. Early systems followed fixed rules, handled narrow tasks, and operated within clearly defined boundaries.

If something went wrong, teams could usually trace the issue back to a configuration error or missing input. That tolerance is disappearing.
