Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Demo Leaks Online

[

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to be the biggest entry in the trilogy yet, expanding upon the huge improvements introduced in Rebirth while maintaining the same cinematic storytelling chops as Remake. Of course, there’s a lot of pressure on Square Enix to wrap up the extremely complex, ongoing universe-hopping narrative so tantalizingly teased at the end of Rebirth while simultaneously delivering a bigger and better gameplay experience. However, from what we’ve seen thus far, it appears that the team is more than up to the task.

Indeed, alongside everything we know about FF7 Revelation, it appears that we may also be getting an even bigger look at just how Square Enix hopes to pull off a truly monumental feat very soon. A Final Fantasy 7 Revelation demo may be surfacing very soon, according to a recent leak, and it may just give us the insights we’ve all been hoping for into exactly how much of Rebirth’s many new features will be changed, and how the team is handling the original game’s dark finale.

Square Enix is usually fairly generous when it comes to demos, typically handing out sizable chunks of the game for free so that fans can try before they buy. We saw this with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, as well as the likes of Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest XI, just to name a few. So, one would likely expect FF7 Revelation to have some form of demo down the line, but it seems hard to believe that anyone expected one to be released as soon as this month.

However, according to a recent leak, that may just be the case. German site GamesWirtschaft posted an article detailing all of the games that will be featured during the upcoming Gamescom event, which is being held in Cologne. The article, which has since been edited, stated that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be playable in Hall 8, heavily implying that a demo of the game will be accessible to attendees. This could finally be the opportunity fans have been waiting for to truly grasp the enormous scope of FF7 Revelation’s map.

While it is unclear whether footage of the demo will be made public, those who do get the opportunity to try it will certainly be able to reveal new FF7 Revelation details. Of course, this is if the leak turns out to be true. It seems likely that GamesWirtschaft merely posted embargoed information that will be revealed closer to Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s appearance at Gamescom on August 25th. However, there is every possibility that a demo does not exist or, at the very least, won’t appear at Gamescom.

It does seem somewhat likely that a demo, even if it is a short vertical slice of gameplay or a brief linear mission, will turn up at Gamescom. These events are the ideal place to showcase upcoming games, and considering FF7 Revelation is set to release in 2027, it doesn’t seem outrageous that a demo would appear now.

It isn’t uncommon for upcoming games of this scale to be showcased in such a fashion long before it comes out. Of course, it is unlikely that this demo will be made playable to the general public, so one can hope that footage of it surfaces online after the event, so that we can get a better glimpse of what Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has to offer.
