Final Fantasy Makes Official Return With New April Release

[

Final Fantasy is among the most popular fantasy RPG franchises of all time, and the ongoing saga has captivated the hearts and minds of gamers worldwide. Players have recently been blessed with the full-scale remake of Final Fantasy 7 spread across three epic games, Final Fantasy 7: Remake, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, and of course the highly anticipated upcoming Part 3.

However, while fans wait for the final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 trilogy remake, there’s a brand-new exciting release from Square Enix that drops this month, and players will want to mark their calendars for this one (via Square Enix).

Final Fantasy Fans Shouldn’t Miss This New Release

Final Fantasy is officially back with the April launch of the Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Original Soundtrack Plus from Square Enix. The album is currently available to Japanese audiences, with pre-orders available for North American markets. The North American release is planned for May 2026, so you’ll want to get your order soon while supplies last.

The Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth OST features in-game background music from the original games that was previously unavailable, and comes on a five-CD disc set. Other collections of the OST do not include the exclusive tracks listed on this one, and players can grab the set for roughly $55 USD at the official Square Enix store.

Digital versions of the collection are available on various outlets now as well, and the full track list can be viewed at the CD set’s official website here, as well as a preview of each track.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Is Coming

The final FF7 Remake installment is arguably one of the most anticipated RPG releases of the decade, with both previous remakes releasing to widespread critical acclaim. While there’s no official statement on Part 3’s release, fans speculate that we could see an announcement in the coming months and even a potential late-2026 release.

That said, 2026 is well underway now, and it seems unlikely that Square Enix would try to rush a Part 3 release before the end of the year when they haven’t even made an official announcement yet. It seems much more likely that the Part 3 remake for Final Fantasy 7 will get an announcement sometime in 2026, with an official release in 2027.

All things considered, the wait is not too far off, and Final Fantasy 7 fans can rest assured that the final installment in the trilogy will deliver an equally incredible experience as the first two.
