Free Nintendo Switch Online Is Yours To Claim For A Very Limited-Time

There are so many subscription services associated with the various video game platforms today that it can be a little difficult to keep up. Which ones you have will obviously depend on where you prefer to play most often, but for Nintendo players, the only real port of call is Nintendo Switch Online.

The video game behemoth has continued to expand the benefits associated with the service over the last year or two, and it really does pack a hell of a punch, if you can justify the cost. If you were planning to join or renew any time soon, there is an offer on right now that gives you a little more bang for your buck.

As first reported by ComicBook, Nintendo is currently running an offer where those who sign up and purchase a full year of Nintendo Switch Online, will be given an additional month for free. Though that obviously requires a significant outlay on your part, it does mean your money goes a little further if you were planning to do it anyway.

Take note, though, that the offer only applies if you also subscribe to the Expansion Pack tier. Happily, that’s also one of the best things you can do with your money as a Nintendo player, with instant access to an extensive catalog of classic games from the N64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis, as well as additional content in more recent titles like Animal Crossing.

Interestingly, the offer does seem to also extend out to both individual and family memberships, priced at $49.99 and $79.99 respectively. Existing members can also take advantage by upgrading to the Expansion Pack tier, or by buying an additional year on top of whatever time they already have left.

It certainly isn’t the most groundbreaking offer you’ll ever see from a video game hardware manufacturer, but by Nintendo’s standards, it’s positively as good as it gets.

It’s also a huge year for many of the most iconic properties in Nintendo’s extensive portfolio. First-party and part-owned stalwarts like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon are celebrating their 40th and 30th anniversaries respectively, so there really is a lot of buzz around the Switch 2 right now overall.

As such, it is a great time to get involved with the Nintendo Switch Online party, but if you do plan on doing so, just make sure you take advantage of the offer before it goes away on July 28.
