French inflation eases in September By Reuters

(Reuters) – French consumer prices rose less than anticipated in September, aided by a decline in energy costs, preliminary data from statistics agency INSEE showed on Friday.

France’s harmonized inflation rate, adjusted for comparison with other euro zone countries, increased by 1.5% year-on-year in September.

Economists surveyed by Reuters were expecting a rise of 2.0% on average.
