Google explains the Gemini Home rollout ‘confusion’ – and reveals when to expect a full launch

    • Google has explained more about the Gemini for Home rollout
    • It’s based on home addresses rather than user accounts
    • The update is expanding beyond the US at the start of 2026

Gemini is replacing Google Assistant everywhere, and that includes the Google Home app – though the switch hasn’t exactly been a smooth and seamless one. Now Google has posted a fresh set of answers to questions users have over the rollout.

As spotted by Android Authority, the new forum post primarily addresses the timing around when Gemini for Home will be going live. As per Google, it’s heading to users in the US first, with other markets getting it from the first quarter of 2026 (in other words, sometime before the end of March 2026).
