Grasim Industries swings to profit in Q1, revenue rises 21% YoY

Grasim Industries on Wednesday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 247 crore for the first quarter of FY27, as against a net loss of Rs 118 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous financial year and Rs 164 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26.The company’s standalone revenue from operations increased nearly 28% year-on-year (YoY) to an all-time high Rs 11,795 crore during the April-June quarter of FY27, from Rs 9,223 crore reported in the year-ago period. It said double engine momentum from both core and growth businesses was supported by a favourable product mix and pricing environment. EBITDA more than doubled to Rs 1,094 crore.

On a consolidated basis, Grasim Industries reported a 51% YoY jump in net profit to Rs 2,146 crore while revenue from operations increased 21% YoY to Rs 48,716 crore during the quarter under review. EBITDA meanwhile increased 26% YoY to its highest-ever to Rs 8,077 crore.

Grasim Industries said UltraTech’s total grey cement capacity stood at 205.5 MTPA. The business is expanding its total grey cement capacity to over 240 MTPA by March, 2028. Its decorative paints business, Birla Opus, further strengthened its third largest position in India’s organised decorative paints industry, with revenue market share expanding by 30 bps QoQ in Q1 FY27.

Aditya Birla Capital delivered another quarter of strong, broad-based performance, with its diversified financial services franchise maintaining growth momentum across lending, insurance and asset management businesses, the company said. It added that the government’s ambitious Viksit Bharat initiative is acting as a catalyst, spurring demand across core industries and creating a robust environment for growth.

Grasim Industries shares closed marginally lower at Rs 3,308 apiece on NSE after the release of the results on Wednesday. The stock has gained around 3% in a week and a month, and is overall up 16% in 2026 so far.

In the longer term, Grasim Industries shares have delivered positive returns of 21% in one year, 81% in three years and 122% in five years. The company has a market capitalisation of more than Rs 2.25 lakh crore.
