LEGO has announced a new set in the Marvel line, and it’s up for preorder now. It’s a set based on the lovable robot H.E.R.B.I.E. from The Fantastic Four. The set has 747 pieces and sells for $74.99, with a release date of August 1. It’s available to preorder exclusively at the LEGO Store.
Preorder LEGO Fantastic Four H.E.R.B.I.E.
The robot H.E.R.B.I.E., which originated as a replacement for the Human Torch in the 1978 animated series The New Fantastic Four, is a charming and helpful character for the gang. This LEGO version stands over nine inches tall and looks quite good. It has tape recorder eyes that automatically rotate when you turn the bot’s head.
His arms and fingers are highly articulated, to the point where you can have him hold a screwdriver and a mug of coffee. When he’s done with those tools, you can place them in a compartment hidden in his torso, which is quite useful. Unfortunately, no minifigures are included with the set.
This is the latest addition to an already strong lineup of Marvel LEGO sets. We can always use more Fantastic Four sets, so it’s good to see this new addition (the only other one available now is Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure).

LEGO is always announcing new sets. I’m looking forward to the new Star Wars sets for May the Fourth (particularly The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter, which is the latest addition to the LEGO Star Wars UCS).
But that just scratches the surface of what’s ahead. For Pixar fans, there are also a number of Toy Story sets coming out ahead of the release of Toy Story 5. And if you’re into other animated fare, you may want to pick up a fancy Shrek LEGO set, or the more affordable Shrek BrickHeadz set.
