Hades 2’s Xbox Game Pass Debut Has Serious Competition

[

The long-awaited Xbox port of Hades 2 is accompanied by a day-one addition to Xbox Game Pass, but another roguelike will quickly follow it onto the service. Hades 2 had its initial release in September last year after a lengthy early-access period, but will come to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on April 14. On that same day, Hades 2 will be added to Game Pass’s April lineup.

Supergiant Games’ sequel was one of 2025’s best games, a worthy successor to the original, and is definitely a must-play for those with a Game Pass subscription. But a week later, another promising roguelike arrives to steal your attention.

Vampire Crawlers Comes To Game Pass Just One Week After Hades 2

Sporcle’s Vampire Crawlers is coming to Game Pass day one on April 21, and has a chance to draw a lot of attention. It is a spin-off of Sporcle’s last game, Vampire Survivors, which helped the bullet heaven genre explode in recent years. Many of Vampire Survivors‘ mechanics have been remixed into Vampire Crawlers, which is a dungeon-crawling, deck-building roguelike.

Vampire Crawlers has a different pace than Hades 2, and is played in the first-person instead of third, but there is a lot of overlap in their appeal. Being good at hack-and-slash games will get you ahead in Hades 2, but it’s all about manipulating the game’s meta-progression and getting the right boons where you can. Vampire Crawlers has the same sort of potential in each run, and with Survivors‘ track record, it could become an immediate hit.

Vampire Crawlers May Be A Great Number-Go-Up Roguelike

Like many deck-builders, Vampire Crawlers dangles the potential of truly game-breaking synergy in front of you during each run. You use your cards in combat encounters, but there’s also plenty of retro-inspired dungeon exploration. It’s so far looking like a promising addition to the list of “number-go-up” games, much like Vampire Survivors and roguelikes such as Balatro and Nubby’s Number Factory.

Vampire Survivors became a huge hit when it came out in 2022, and it seems like Sporcle could repeat its success with Vampire Crawlers. A day-one Game Pass release will certainly help its chances of reaching unaware players, but it is coming out in a crowded month for Xbox’s subscription service. Vampire Crawlers is just one of 18 games being added in April 2026, and it’s following shortly after Hades 2, which has had a tremendous amount of momentum behind it. Roguelike fans with Xbox Game Pass have a lot to look forward to this month with both Hades 2 and Vampire Crawlers.
