He-Man and Skeletor Just Unleashed the Coolest Popcorn Buckets of 2026

Collider’s Steve Weintraub is on the floor at CinemaCon, where the first theater merchandise for Masters of the Universe was just put on display today. Among several cups and collectible figures, several of the coolest popcorn buckets we’ve ever seen were revealed. Get a first look at the new items below.

In less than two months, you’ll be able to tell all your friends that you’ve eaten popcorn out of Skeletor’s skull. A huge popcorn bucket in the shape of the Eternian archenemy’s skeletal noggin was among the items on display at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon, the largest theatrical exhibition convention on the continent. Other merch on display includes adorable plush versions of Skeletor and He-Man’s feline steed, Battle Cat; Skeletor and He-Man drink toppers; an elaborate rendition of Skeletor’s fearsome, snake-emblazed throne in his sinister citadel, Snake Mountain; and a plush version of He-Man’s Power Sword, allowing you to gently smite anyone who’s talking during the movie. Coolest of all, perhaps, is the iconic Castle Grayskull, which is the source of He-Man’s mystical might…and the source of your popcorn and large fountain Sprite, as one of the castle’s parapets cleverly conceals a drink holder.

What Is ‘Masters of the Universe’ About?

Based on the iconic toy line, cartoon, and comic books of the 1980s, Masters of the Universe stars Nicholas Galitzine as Adam Glenn, an office worker with a big secret (that he’s not so great at keeping a secret): he’s actually the heir to the throne of Eternia, a faraway planet of techno-barbarians. Years ago, he was exiled to Earth for his own safety to protect him from the diabolical warlock Skeletor (Jared Leto). But now, he’s been called back by the warrior Teela (Camila Mendes) to save his people and claim the power of Castle Grayskull, transforming him into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. Aiding him in his quest is the captain of the guard, Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), the mystical Sorceress of Castle Grayskull (Morena Baccarin), and the mechanical Roboto (Kristen Wiig); opposing him are Skeletor’s legion of minions, including the cruel enchantress Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie) and a whole rogues gallery of plug-uglies, including Beast Man, Tri-Klops, Trap-Jaw, and Spikor.

Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), from a script by Chris Butler (ParaNorman); previous drafts of the script were by David Callaham (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) and Adam and Aaron Nee (The Lost City). The project languished in Development Hell for years, landing at Netflix and Sony before finding a home at Amazon MGM Studios (who cleverly replaced Leo the Lion in the MGM logo with Adam’s faithful pet Cringer in the film’s second trailer).
