Hogwarts Legacy 2 Leaked Reveal Teases Impending Release Window

It was back in March 2022 that Hogwarts Legacy was first unveiled at PlayStation’s State of Play event. Then, in February 2023, the Harry Potter-inspired RPG was released, becoming the best-selling game of the year and allowing fans of the magical series to finally live out their dreams of becoming a Hogwarts student in an open-world setting.

Due to its popularity, it was not long before Hogwarts Legacy 2 was announced with Avalanche Software returning to the helm. At the time of writing, not much is currently known about the Hogwarts Legacy sequel, other than that it is set to “coincide” with the launch of HBO’s Harry Potter television show, which airs in 2027. As such, could this mean that we will get Hogwarts Legacy 2 as early as next year? Although it has not been confirmed, another interesting fact could just help corroborate that 2027 rumor.

Courtesy of notorious leaker Tidux, Hogwarts Legacy 2 could be announced at the next PlayStation State of Play event. If true, and the sequel is announced in the next few months, it could release as early as mid 2027, if the first game’s schedule is anything to go by. With Tidux simply sharing, “SOP- HL2 Soon™”, it is always worth taking with a pinch of salt. However, this is a claim that has been supported by notorious leaker NatetheHate, who claims that he has some information on when the next State of Play event will take place.

As mentioned, this is not the only rumor surrounding the launch of Hogwarts Legacy 2 taking place in 2027. Not only is it set to collaborate with HBO’s Harry Potter, but it was just recently that a brand-new Community Manager was hired to work on the sequel. This may not sound like very exciting information at first glance, but it is worth noting that a studio only hires a Community Manager when, well, the community needs managing and, for a community to need managing, a game needs to be present. If you put two and two together, we can safely assume that Hogwarts Legacy 2‘s launch is just around the corner.

However, it is once again worth noting that all the current leaks and rumors are just speculation, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, we know very little about Hogwarts Legacy 2, including its setting, time period, characters, and even if it will include multiplayer, which is a feature fans called out for after the first game skipped out on it. With no official trailers or information, maybe that 2027 release date is just too optimistic, but we shall see.
