‘Holey Moley’: Fremantle Building Portugal Production Hub For ABC Show

[

Fremantle is gambling on Holey Moley.

The … Got Talent maker has officially taken global production and distribution rights on the format and forged a hub in Portugal from which it will make versions of the show that aired on ABC in the States.

Initial filming is slated for May and June 2026 and Fremantle said global territories adapting the format will be announced in due course. Last month, reports emerged that I’m a Celebrity hosts Ant & Dec were developing a UK version with their own indie Mitre Studios and Fremantle.

The hub is in Portimão, Portugal and comes after Fremantle touted Holey Moley at the recent London TV Screenings. In the show, which was created by Fremantle’s Eureka Productions, contestants face off against each other on larger-than-life holes designed to test their precision. Along the way, they brave obstacles.

Holey Moley aired on ABC between 2019 and 2022. One series also aired in Australia on Seven Network.

Fremantle boss Jennifer Mullin said: “Holey Moley has proven its success in the United States, with its unique blend of comedy, competition, and large‑scale spectacle, attracting a significant broad audience. We are excited to drive the format’s international expansion through our new global production hub in Portugal.”

Holey Moley creator Chris Culvenor just lauched a new Fremantle label, Eureka Studios. Fremantle also makes the likes of Got Talent, The X Factor and Too Hot To Handle.
