Dwars door Vlaanderen 2026 – Preview
The penultimate race of the Flemish ‘Holy Week’ pits the peloton once more against the famous cobbled roads of Belgium over 185 kilometres from Roeselare to Waregem.
Taking in 12 climbs and 7 cobblestone sections including the famous Hellestraat, Mariaborrestraat, Côte de Trieu, Nokereberg and Eikenberg it’s a brutal course as always. With the final climb just 9 kilometers from the finish the action will go right down to the wire and only the very strongest will survive to contest for the win.
The start list is a heady mix of cobbled classic specialists like Wout van Aert, Mads Pedersen and Tobias Lund Andresen to out and out sprinters like Jonathan Milan, Jasper Philipsen or Biniam Girmay who will be hoping their teams can control the race and keep it all together. Although Team Visma | Lease a Bike will be betting on van Aert to shine, if he doesn’t then they have an ace up their sleeve in the shape of young British sensation Matthew Brennan, already the winner of this year’s Kuurne – Brussel – Kuurne.
