How to watch F1 on Apple TV – F1 TV Pro, devices and freebies explained

We’re embarking on a whole new era for F1 – and not just on track. Apple TV is F1’s broadcasting partner in the US for 2026, replacing ESPN and ABC, but impacting on F1 TV Pro too.

Apple TV, which has effectively absorbed F1 TV Pro. Select races and all practice sessions will be shown for free on the Apple TV app.

An Apple TV subscription costs $12.99 per month or $99 per year after a 7-day FREE trial.

However, it pays to shop around.

For instance, you’ll get Apple TV FREE for 3 months when you buy an eligible iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac device.

Apple One bundles Apple TV with Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness Plus, Apple News Plus and 50GB of iCloud Storage for $19.95 per month after a 1-month FREE trial.

The Apple Music Student Subscription includes Apple TV Plus, and costs $6 per month for a limited time.

You can also bundle Apple TV with Peacock TV for $14.99 per month – separately, they’d cost $22.99 per month.

What if I have an F1 TV Pro subscription?

If you’re based in the US and have an existing F1 TV Pro subscription that isn’t due to expire just yet, you’ll still be able to make full use of it.

You can continue to use F1 TV Pro on the F1 TV app, or tune in on Apple TV instead.

How do I integrate F1 TV Pro with Apple TV?

Some F1 TV Pro subscribers have received a notification in the F1 TV app, prompting them to integrate the two services by entering their Apple ID login details.

If you haven’t, another way to sync the two services is by navigating to the Bahrain pre-season test in the latest version of the F1 TV app, and selecting Apple TV activation. You’ll need an Apple ID to complete the process.

Can I watch F1 free of charge?

Apple has teased that non-subscribers will be able to live stream some races and all practice sessions on the Apple TV app, but at the time of writing it’s yet to name any specific GPs.

The Australian Grand Prix is free-to-air on 10Play in Australia, the British Grand Prix is free-to-air on Channel 4 in the UK, and all races and sessions are free-to-air on ORF and Servus TV in Austria, RTL Zwee in Luxembourg, and RTBF in Belgium.
