Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 has dialed up the drama and, with it, has brought plenty of new challenges along the way.
At the time of writing, we’re three episodes into season 2, and the Disney+ series continues to bring the surprises. Long-time fans of Rick Riordan’s work know The Sea of Monsters well, and now we’ve seen it all unfold on screen.
While Scobell did say this was one of the biggest challenges, he clarified that it was such a fun experience that he couldn’t feel mad about it, even if it has put him off eating one of his favorite sandwiches for a while.
He added, “I mean it definitely is like a pretty big shock, like every dry off after lunch, and then you go back and get another burst of cold water. It’s intense, but it feels so awesome that you can’t be mad, you know?”
I previously spoke to author Rick Riordan, who also praised the scenes on the ship, in particular, the amount of work that the crew put in to making it look real and believable.
Riordan told me, “I didn’t have to do the work, but they had to create this full-scale ship and figure out how to make it look like it’s on the ocean, waves crashing over the side, unbelievable stunt work that they did for that.”
I can only confirm what’s already been said because season 2 of one of the best Disney+ shows has such fantastic stunts, and I think fans are in for such a treat as the story progresses. The series runs throughout the holidays with the finale landing on January 21, so there’s plenty to look forward to.
